PSYCHOLOGY 2210: Social Psychology
Human beings are social and much of our behaviour is determined by our social
environment. This course examines the many social factors that constrain
our actions. Why do we accept the behaviour of others as a guide to how we
should behave? What makes us more or less likely to help someone else or
to harm someone else? How do our thoughts guide our behaviour?
How can we diminish stereotypes?
This course looks at the theories and the evidence that help explain the
social behaviour of human beings. I stress the reliance on evidence to
test and inform the theories and students are required to design and execute a
small social psychological experiment.
